Balcones 100 Proof Rye Whisky

Handcrafted in small batches, Balcones Texas Single Malt Whisky is made from 100 percent malted Golden Promise barley. Golden Promise is an early-maturing spring barley that has a depth of flavor ideal for single malts. While it was popular in Scotland for many years, it gave way to cheaper barely that was higher in yield but lower in quality. The first in a series of anniversary bottlings for Balcones, this is a limited-edition cask strength bottled at 62.5 percent ABV. This Texas whiskey is madewith 100 percent rye, and raw elbon grain from north and northwest Texas as well as crystal, chocolate and roasted rye varieties,giving the whisky a special rich chocolate character with more traditional rye spice notes. Aged for almost two years, this rye is matured in new American oak barrels and brought to proof with Hill Country spring water.Pick up your bottle today!
